— About
The one behind
the moon
Dark Moon Productions is run by Joe Lyko — a musician, filmmaker and engineer in Ottawa who started it because artists need someone who understands them: their vision, their budget, and what the song is really about.
The story
[How you got into music — first instrument, first band, the scene you came up in.]
[How recording started — tracking your own band, then friends’ bands, then clients. The records that made the name.]
[How video came in — the first music video, learning to shoot and grade, moving up to the cinema cameras you run today.]
Today Dark Moon is a one-stop shop for heavy bands: the video, the record and the merch, made by people who play, tour and sell shirts at shows too. When the tools we wanted didn’t exist, we built them — that’s how Dark Moon Audio started.
